ENGLAND (Travel)

I am not sure when I first touched English soil. Was it at Heathrow where we landed after leaving Johannesburg? I remember miles of Terminal on our way to catch the flight to Edinburgh, but actual land?
It probably wasn't until we got off the bus at Berwick-on-Tweed to catch the train to London that is was English 'soil'. Even then it was probably tar seal.

Our train took us to York where we stopped over for the night. We visited the Yorvik Viking Centre and took a walk around York Minster and The Shambles. Then it was on to London the next day.

Arriving on a Thursday evening at Kings Cross Station, "I'll buy it!" (for Monopoly players), and out from Luton London on Saturday morning just left us time to see through "The Tower" on Friday with our niece Kate.

Staying somewhere in London (Clapham I think) with a nephew Caleb, and with his instructions on catching the tube (just twice), meant it was a hassle-free visit.
